TV presenter Julie Reinger will be on hand next week (Tuesday July 3) as Norfolk County Council's fire and rescue service recognises the exceptional work of its staff.
The service holds its third annual Achievers' Awards Lunch at County Hall and awards will be presented to a wide range of fire and rescue service staff in both uniformed and support roles.
Julie, well-know presenter with BBC Look East, will hand over awards to 13 achievers, who have all been nominated by colleagues for their exceptional work for the service.
Richard Elliott, Chief Fire Officer for Norfolk, said: "Our annual Achievers' Awards lunch has already become an important fixture on our calendar. We have our annual awards evening in November every year but we wanted to hold a more informal, but no less important, event which recognises outstanding work and effort and rewards those whose work has been exceptional. Once again we have a good cross-section of the organisation who will receive awards and I'm sure it will be an enjoyable occasion."
Richard Rockcliffe, Cabinet Member for Fire and Community Protection, said: "Our fire and rescue service is able to provide the excellent service it does thanks to its people. I am delighted to see some of those people have their efforts recognised in this way. It is also significant that all those receiving awards were nominated by their work colleagues and that is something in which they should be justifiably proud."
Julie Reinger said: "Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service does an amazing job and I am delighted to help recognise the achievements of just some of those who help make the service what it is."
The Achievers' Awards Lunch takes place between 1pm and 3pm on Tuesday July 3 in the Cranworth Room at County Hall.
