Open Day at North Earlham Fire Station

25 July 2008

On Saturday August 2 North Earlham Fire Station is opening its doors to the public for its annual open day.

The station, which is in Ivy Road, just off Bowthorpe Road in Norwich, will be open from 10.30 am with plenty to see and do.

These include:

Chip pan fire demonstrations
A chance to go through our fire experience unit
Practical demonstrations of firefighter skills
Urban Search And Rescue
Child car seat checking
Tours of the station and a chance to look over the fire engines.

Station Manager David Lambard said: “North Earlham is very much a community fire station and we look forward to welcoming people to our open day. There is always a great deal of interest in the work of the fire and rescue service and we are always happy to show people those skills we are always associated with, like firefighting, and to introduce them to other elements they may know less about, such as our urban search and rescue capability or youth engagement work. We look forward to seeing people on the day.”

North Earlham is Norwich’s newest fire station and opened in February 2006.
