Recruit Induction The aim of the course is to train new entrants into the Norfolk Fire Service to a standard of proficiency that will enable them to become a safe and effective crew member.
Breathing Apparatus Induction All firefighters must be able to use breathing apparatus. The aim of the course is to enable students to become safe and effective breathing apparatus wearers whilst complying with the techniques and procedures as specified by the Home Office.
Road Traffic Collision Induction The aim of the course is to qualify the individual to operate Hydraulic Rescue Equipment safely and perform techniques which are utilised at Road Traffic Collisions.
Community Fire Safety Induction All wholetime Firefighters are trained in the techniques and best practices in spreading the Fire Safety message in the community.
Trauma Care The aim of the course is to orientate the firefighter to the initial assessment and management of casualties. The firefighter can do nothing about the primary damage caused by the accident, but can play a vital role in preventing secondary damage due to airway obstruction, hypoxia, hypovolemia or c-spine injury.
Fire Behaviour The aim of the course is for students to understand basic fire behaviour and to be trained in compartment fire fighting tactics. All operational personnel will be required to undertake this training every four years.
Winch Course The aim of the course is to allow the trainee to operate vehicle mounted winches safely effectively in a variety of operational incidents.
Incident Command Course This course is designed for fireground managers to enable them to develop an understanding of the importance of applying the principles of Incident Command and ensure that those personnel have the skills, knowledge and understanding to deal with incidents in safe and effective manner. |
