> Current safety plan

This document is the current Safety Plan for 2007-2010.   

The safety plan takes a three-year look ahead and sets out the objectives for the Fire and Rescue Service.  We are in the process of developing our new safety plan for 2011-2014, you can find out more about this here.

Our service objectives and priorities can be summarised with the following headings:-

Prevention:

To prevent fires and other emergencies from happening

Priority: To target community fire safety advice for older people.

Protection:

To reduce the impact of fires and other emergencies on people

Priority: To increase the number of homes in Norfolk with working smoke detectors.

Response:

To respond efficiently and effectively to calls for assistance

Priority: To improve our approach to operational audit and review.

People:

To build a diverse, skilled, safe and high-performing workforce

Priority: To ensure our arrangements for operational assurance are robust.

Manage:

To manage resources efficiently and responsibly

Priority: To improve our efficiency.

Community:

To ensure we meet customers’ expectations

Priority: To understand the community better.
