Q. How can I apply to be a Wholetime Firefighter?
A. When we commence a Wholetime Recruitment campaign, we advertise in the local press - the Eastern Daily Press – as part of Norfolk County Council's composite advertisement on a Thursday.
The advertisement will contain instructions on how to apply. At the present time, we do not accept applications in any other format.
From 2005, Wholetime recruitment will take place on a regional basis, with our regional partners Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Essex.
We normally run recruitment campaigns on an annual basis.
Q. Can I put my name on a waiting list?
A. Whilst we are happy to provide any information you may require to help with your application, we are unable at present to maintain a waiting list.
Q. What are the requirements of being a Wholetime Firefighter?

You must be 18 years or above on appointment.

You must have excellent unaided vision.

You must be able to pass a stringent medical examination and a range of fitness, aptitude and written tests (click here to find information relating to the physical tests.)

You must be of good character with a good education background.There is no longer an upper or lower height limit for Wholetime or Retained Firefighters.
